Are you using email marketing to benefit your online store?

Holidays are the best time for companies to promote their online stores, especially Christmas and New Years, when many people will save money for the festive atmosphere. We must learn how to capture the attention of online prospects and make sales and convert online shoppers into long-term repeat customers during the holidays.

Email marketing is a great way to do it! This prepares the existing customer base for an upcoming product/service, and also allows new visitors to sign up to connect with them for the rest of the year. Today's small article will share some tips on how to collect emails, build content and decide on a schedule. Hope to help your business become more and more successful~

Expand your store's potential customer database

The first thing to do is to get people to sign up for email marketing. The best way to convince customers to sign up is to offer something in return. Stores can offer discount codes to customers after they sign up, or offer downloadable PDFs/exclusive content (depending on the nature of the business), it's worth noting that offering something of value will make potential customers more likely to sign up for news from the business communication.

Other than that, there are multiple days of exclusive events available! In exchange for a prospect's name and email, provide them with something of value, or provide a free training video or guide, place a company link on it.

If you're not sure about creating a free guide or PDF download, you can provide a Blog or Newsletter that provides information for free to build relationships with clients and kindly draw attention to your business. For blog content, focus on writing about business-focused topics and provide some industry insights that you can share with your clients. Customer data can be collected in different ways by the website, most commonly by signing up for the newsletter on the store footer, but also at the end of the checkout process. Online stores can manage customer emails from within the admin.

Types of Newsletter Content

Email marketing campaigns can create several different types of content. You save some of these as templates to easily send when needed. For example, when new customers sign up, you can send them a welcome email to introduce the store. This can be a welcome email or a series of three emails separated by two to three days, whichever works best for you and your brand. In these welcome emails, you can link to the store's social pages and introduce the brand at the same time, so that guests can follow the store across platforms and increase exposure.

Newsletter content is the main body of email marketing, keeping customers informed of company stories, latest products and offers, etc. Basically anything worth sharing can be shared from email marketing. Creating a different template for each type of update that is frequently used will make it easier to edit as needed and communicate quickly.

Sales emails are the most common type of email marketing. These are designed to sell brands, products, and services to potential customers and drive them to an online store to make a purchase. In addition to weekly content, emails work best if they are sent out once or twice a month in a planned way. Try not to over-sell your customers, as they will most likely also receive promotional emails from other brands, so contacting them too often may cause them to unsubscribe.

Create content

The subject line of the email sent may be a key part of the customer's decision to open the email, using some simple words, or some interesting images. Asking questions can also attract attention, so you can try lines like: "Do you need something to brighten your home decor?

One thing to keep in mind is to make sure to include a "call-to-action" button in certain parts of the email. This is important for whether customers decide to click (convert) and stay focused on the brand. Best not to be too pushy here! Some examples that can be used are "show me more", "continue reading", "click here to next step", "take me to sign up" and whatever best suits the company's needs.

But there are also things to avoid to ensure emails don't get flagged as spam by customers' mail servers. Avoid using too many GIFs or Emojis. Words such as "urgent", "offer expires", "cash or money" should be avoided from sounding too salesy by removing them from the subject.

Be sure to include your store's email address and unsubscribe button in all emails. All email marketing must include a clear unsubscribe link and physical address, it is very important that these are included in every email.
